The US Southern Border has become a full blown national security and humanitarian crisis under the Biden Administration, as DHS Secretary Mayorkas has appeared to have abandoned his post.
Securing the border is the federal government’s responsibility, but the Constitution provides the means for states to act decisively in the absence of the federal government.
According to the Center for Renewing America, “the Biden Administration has neglected its duties under Article IV, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution to protect the United States, her citizens and communities being ravaged by this invasion of crime, drugs and humanitarian crisis. Indeed, one can argue that the actions of the administration are effectively facilitating the abrogation of its own obligations.”
If Biden won’t secure the borders, the states have the power to do so. Center for Renewing America continues, “Known as the guarantee clause, Article IV, Section 4 of the Constitution states, ‘The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them from Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic violence.’”
With the feds’ abdication of responsibility, Texas authorities are standing in the gap for citizens of their state – and, frankly, for the rest of us.
According to Breitbart, reporting on Friday, “Eagle Pass has seen an increase in migrant apprehensions in recent months and now leads the nation as the border city with the most migrant crossings. As reported by Breitbart Texas, nearly 700 migrants forded the Rio Grande on Sunday within hours.”
700 migrants within hours. Really think about that for a minute.
The piece continues, “Since the launch of Operation Lone Star in March 2021, Texas law enforcement authorities and Texas Army National Guard soldiers have apprehended more than 292,700 migrants.”
In July, the New York Post reported, “More than 500,000 known “gotaway” immigrants have crossed the border into the US but evaded capture since the start of FY 2022, according to a new report.”
The 292,700 apprehensions are just the ones they catch. The 500,000 “gotaways” are just the ones they see but don’t catch. And with the Biden regime’s open border policy and focus on immigration equity, the scale of the border crisis should really be coming into focus.
The Center for Renewing America places responsibility for this escalation on the states, “Therefore, governors, attorneys general, and state legislatures must take emergency measures–beyond the scope of what has been attempted to this point–to follow through on the primary function of government: protecting its citizens.”
DEMAND FOR REMEDY: Congress must immediately move to close the US Border and secure the interior in accordance with Article IV, Section 4 of the US Constitution, preserve Title 42 of the US Code, and enforce existing immigration laws.
Enforcing immigration law and protecting citizens is a good start for the federal government, but if they continue to neglect their duty, protecting the Republic will fall to the states and each of us.
Here is today’s letter to Congress:
TO CLOSE WHO CLAIM TO REPRESENT US IN THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT:
The crisis at the southern border is flooding our country with chaos and crime. As the cartels rake in record profits from drugs and human trafficking, the American people lose again.
In a matter of hours on Sunday, 700 migrants crossed the Rio Grande and came into the interior of the country. Those are the just the ones we know about.

Enforcing immigration law and protecting citizens is a good start for the federal government, but if you continue to neglect your duty, protecting the Republic will fall to the states and individuals.
If you cannot do your Constitutionally-prescribed duties, we have no use for you. Remember your oath or resign in disgrace.
