EVER WONDER WHAT THE GIFT OF OBAMACARE LOOKS LIKE STACKED UP?

The fight to defund Obamacare is still alive in the Senate. Senator Ted Cruz of Texas is proposing an amendment to the Continuing Resolution, which would defund Obamacare.

RedState notes that Senate Republicans need to fight to get this language in the budget bill:

SEC. ll2. PROHIBITION ON FUNDING.

None of the funds made available in this Act may be used—(1) to carry out any provision of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Public Law 111–148) or title I or subtitle B of title II of the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 (Public Law 111–152), or the amendments made by such Act, title, or subtitle; or BAI13216 S.L.C. (2) for rulemaking under such Act, title, or 2 subtitle.

Obamacare needs discretionary funding to survive. The photo above was taken in Senator McConnell’s office, after 828 new pages of Obamacare regulations arrived last week. Those pages arrived in one day; to be added to the over 20,000 pages that already exist. McConnell wrote on his Facebook page, “This is the owner’s manual for the health care law that’s supposed to make things better. Are you kidding? This law is a disaster waiting to happen.”

Many Republicans in Congress let us down last week when they voted for the Continuing Resolution that essentially gave a green light to this “disaster waiting to happen.” By not choking it of funds, they kept it alive. And as usual, Republicans are kicking the can down the road and saying they will wait until the next debt ceiling fight to work on defunding it. (And we know they will NEVER fight for it during debt ceiling battles, because they always back down).

We have to take the fight to the Senate and hope they end up pressuring the House to get a backbone. Sean Hannity pressed Speaker Boehner to do something, asking, "If we're going to stop this monstrosity, it would take very bold action by the House. Is that something that you're prepared to do?"

Boehner replied that he wasn’t. He said, "There will be opportunities ahead. But do you want to risk the full faith and credit of the United States government over Obamacare? That's a very tough argument to make."

There will only be one tough argument to make: Members of Congress are going to have to answer to the American people at the polls in 2014 and 2016 about why they supported Obamacare. As light is shed on how terrible this legislation is and how bankrupt it is going to make all of us, we are going to need answers from those who refuse to do the right thing.

Obamacare cannot take root if there is no money to fund its myriad regulations. We must put pressure on our representatives and demand they find the guts to undo this monstrosity. Next year, all provisions will take effect. Already in 2013 we’ve seen the horrors of what is to come…higher taxes, lower paychecks, a shortage of doctors, higher premiums and limited coverage. Even your vet bills are going to increase, because Obamacare’s new 2.3 percent federal excise tax on health technologies will affect things like IV pumps, scalpels and anesthesia equipment—any devices that can be used both on people and animals.

Congress has the opportunity, right now, to stop funds to Obamacare. Congress is in complete control right now of whether or not Obamacare is ever fully implemented. Do not allow them to fall asleep on the job! Fax them now and tell them to defund Obamacare!
