The Senate was fortunately unable to pass the politically maneuvered National Security/$80 Billion Foreign Aid Package Bill on Wednesday. As we have reported, this bill would not have benefited the people of the United States at all; in fact, it would have compromised our border even further. Due to its failure to pass in the Senate, Democrats began scrambling to figure out ways to send money overseas and advanced a $95 billion Foreign Aid Bill for Ukraine, Israel, Gaza, and Taiwan. Once again, foreign aid took precedence over our border. Congress must focus on our nation, our citizens, and our people. It's time to stop spending taxpayer dollars on other nations and prioritize our nation now!

Both the Senate and the House have been putting on a show to temporarily appease the people regarding the risks to our nation's security due to the open border. Last week, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) introduced a national security bill intertwined with foreign aid and a deal to maintain a 35-year national ban on fully plastic ghost guns. Once again, our national security was used as a political pawn, with Democrats linking border security to unrelated agendas.

On Wednesday, the Senate voted on whether to pass this bill, and fortunately, it fell flat, because any sane congressional member knows that holding our nation's security ransom for billions of dollars to go overseas is absolutely absurd and a slap in the face to all taxpaying Americans. In addition, Schumer's National Security Bill would have been entirely counterproductive, compromising our southern border even further than it already is.

Now that the National Security Bill/Foreign Aid package has failed to pass, Democrats have moved to advance a $95 billion foreign aid package to Ukraine, Israel, Gaza, and Taiwan, a package somehow larger than the one proposed in the National Security Bill. This new foreign aid bill was moved forward in a 67-32 cloture vote, with 17 RINOs helping to advance the bill. It will be voted on sometime next week. The advancement of a $95 billion Foreign Aid Bill for Ukraine, Israel, Gaza, and Taiwan is a disgrace. It is an insult to every American struggling to make ends meet, every community grappling with crime and poverty, and every family affected by the failures of our government.

The 17 RINOs include Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Bill Cassidy (R-LA), Roger Wicker (R-MS), Todd Young (R-IN), Susan Collins (R-ME), Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), John Kennedy (R-LA), John Thune (R-SD), Dan Sullivan (R-AK), Mitt Romney (R-UT), Joni Ernst (R-IA), Mike Rounds (R-SD), Thom Tillis (R-NC), John Cornyn (R-TX), Chuck Grassley (R-IA), and Jerry Moran (R-KS).

So far, no other National Security or Border Bill has gained traction, as our Congress is far too busy plotting ways to send more of your hard-earned money overseas for their own benefit. Per usual, they are ignoring the most promising border security bill, the "Secure the Border Act" or H.R.2, because Democrats like Chuck Schumer are unwilling to prioritize the safety of American citizens without extracting concessions.

Congress must not pass this Foreign Aid package funded by the people of the United States. Our hard-earned tax dollars are supposed to benefit us, help us, and improve our nation. They are not to be squandered overseas, never to be seen again, and used for who knows what. The continuation of these foreign aid packages and the failure to address issues at home, like the crisis at the border, is nothing but taxation without representation and institutional slavery. Enough is enough!
