All across the county, state and federal governments have declared war on law-abiding American gun owners. States are hiding behind antiquated Supreme Court rulings as an excuse to ban firearms and move to confiscate them!
The battle lines have been drawn and Connecticut is ground zero in the fight over the Second Amendment!
Back in April, the Connecticut Legislature passed a law forcing all owners of "military pattern" semi-automatic firearms and "high capacity" magazines to register them with the state. Failure or refusal to register the firearms and magazines now constitutes a Class D felony, in the same class of crimes as prostitution...
Well, as we reported to you, the registration numbers are embarrassingly low for the gun grabbers. Some estimate that only 15% of the so-called "assault weapons" and "high capacity magazines" have been registered by the state's imposed deadline. This past week, it came to light that the Connecticut State Police planned to go door to door and confiscate the firearms from otherwise law-abiding citizens. This unconstitutional gun grabbing agenda must be stopped!
Earlier this week, one woman called up the Connecticut State Police and asked for a clarification of whether her husband's firearms would be confiscated by force. The police officer who fielded the call, State Police Spokesperson Lieutenant Paul Vance, chastised the woman for opposing the law, calling her "anti-American" for questioning the State Police's authority to disarm the citizenry.
Anti-American? The only thing that is "anti-American" is the fact that the three branches of Connecticut's government have conspired to violate their citizens' constitutional right to keep and bear arms!
The state's largest newspaper, The Hartford Courant, has also begun fanning the flames and urging confiscation of unregistered firearms. The paper is urging the State to use the background check database as a way to find assault weapon purchasers who haven't registered their firearms. The police are weighing this as an option.
This is why we are so adamantly against universal background checks. Not because us gun owners want children to die, as the gun control advocates claim, but because we know that a mandatory universal background check creates a gun registry for all firearm transfers! If this wasn't the case, how could the State Police even be contemplating using a background check database which, statutorily, should not even exist!
Whenever governments have created a list of firearm owners, those lists have been used for disarmament. This is why we fight! This is why we stand against tyrannical states and anti-gun politicians who want nothing more than to forcefully disarm us!
Some 50k people have already registered their "assault" firearms in Connecticut. More than 100k people are estimated to have resisted the order to register their weapons. The State has a few hundred registration applications that came in after the registration deadline, and they are going after these otherwise law-abiding gun owners as we speak.
But, they realize that while they have a few hundred "notarized admissions of guilt" (aka late applications), they also have the ability to go through the background check history to find disobedient citizens. Since the AR-15 is the country's most popular firearm, odds are that many of Connecticut's gun owners possess these prohibited firearms.
The state can go through whatever background check information it has and it can also use the state's Concealed Handgun Permit database to locate potential "felons." The fact remains that there are plenty of ways for the State or Federal governments to identify gun owners. Once a state like Connecticut identifies who owns a firearm, you can rest assured that the governor will order the State Police to go door to door to inspect whether residents possess banned firearms.
What do you think is going to happen when a S.W.A.T. team knocks on a gun owner's door and demands to inspect his or her firearms? Anyone who thinks this will happen peacefully doesn't know our history.
The British Army tried this in April of 1775. The British tried to confiscate the American colonists' firearms and instead of surrendering their arms, the brave colonists met them on the battlefields of Lexington and Concord.
If Connecticut tries to go door to door to confiscate firearms banned because of their cosmetic attachments, there will be blood in the streets. Mark my words: there will be blood. That is the way it must be. At some point, constitutional violations become so egregious that free men and women must fight back. As Thomas Jefferson famously wrote, "the Tree of Liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is it's natural manure."
This is what our politicians don't understand. At the State and Federal levels, our politicians mistake our silence for weakness. They assume that We the People will just continue to accept their tyranny. This couldn't be farther from the truth!
I am calling on you to stand with the law-abiding gun owners of Connecticut and everywhere else who live under corrupt politicians seeking to infringe on their citizens' God-given right to keep and bear arms!
I do not make this prediction lightly, but if this liberal gun control agenda is put into effect and the State uses its Gestapo to go door to door to disarm the people, there will be a civil war. Even the Federal Justice Department has admitted that a gun ban is worthless without "mandatory gun confiscation." Confiscation is gun control's end goal!
It is our constitutional duty to inform Congress that going down this path is unacceptable. If the government takes one step towards unconstitutionally disarming anyone, there will be serious hell to pay!
