Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi have gone too far this time.  Sure, we are all used to their lies and double speak.  That is nothing new.  Their rhetoric is as morally and politically bankrupt as their souls.  Every time they open their mouths all they do is spew bile and fiction about their political opponents all for the advancement of their despicable Socialist agenda.  But this time it is too much.  This time Americans of ALL political persuasions must stand up against their disgusting calumniations.

In a mind blowing display of partisan politics at its worst, Sen. Harry Reid used his position as Majority Leader of the Senate to hijack Senate proceedings and make false accusations about Republican Presidential candidate, Gov. Mitt Romney.   It is one thing to for Sen. Reid to speak his drivel on camera during interviews, but it is wholly inappropriate for him to use the Senate floor and his position as Majority Leader to lead a witch hunt against a political rival of his boss, Comrade Obama.

On August 2, 2012 Majority Leader Harry Reid stated on the Senate floor that “The word's out that he [Romney] hasn't paid any taxes for 10 years”.  He then promptly refused to name his source; stating only that it was an anonymous Bain employee.  Anonymous?!?!  Is he joking?!?!  This is truly an act of cowardice that defies civil legislative decorum.  To make such allegations on the Senate floor without a shred of proof is undignified and reprehensible.  I guess he is so afraid that Obama will lose in November that he is willing to say and do anything to get his Marxist standard bearer reelected.  Always be wary of coward cornered.  They will do anything to preserve their power. 

Of course House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi had to jump into the spotlight to further inflate her vast ego.  While campaigning in California, she jumps at the chance for more media coverage and defends her lying leftist lawmaker colleague.   Nanny State Nancy states "If he [Harry Reid] has said somebody told him that, some credible source, then I believe that… That's up to Gov. Romney to release his returns".  Wrong answer, Nancy.  It is up Harry Reid to prove his silly little theory.  Furthermore, Gov. Romney is under no legal obligation to release his tax records.

However, the President of the United States IS constitutionally required to demonstrate that he is natural-born United States citizen, which Obama has never done.  Nancy and Harry, where is righteous indignation on that front?  You will tell lies about a political opponent but allow the President of the United States to shirk his constitutional responsibilities?  Shame on both of you.

Even the leftist leaning Washington Post stated that, in their belief, Harry Reid is lying.  The Washington Post has been providing cover for liberal leaders for decades, but I guess Dirty Harry’s actions were a bridge too far.  The Washington Post states “Generally, we maintain that the person or the campaign making the charge must back it up. Reid has refused to provide any evidence, except for the (unproven) fact that someone called him up and told him something that may be true — or simply a rumor.”

The paper goes on to publicly admonish Reid, stating “Without seeing Romney’s taxes, we cannot definitively prove Reid incorrect. But tax experts say his claim is highly improbable. Reid also has made no effort to explain why his unnamed source would be credible. So, in the absence of more information, it appears he has no basis to make his incendiary claim.”  To borrow a line out of Shakespeare, when the Washington Post is attacking a liberal leader like Dirty Harry, you KNOW that “something is rotten in the state of Denmark.”

The Romney Campaign denies Pelosi and Reid’s silly accusations.  Gov. Romney got tough on Reid during a Fox News interview, telling Dirty Harry to “Put up or shut up”.  Romney certainly cannot capitulate to this political terrorism.  He must send a message of strength or he will spend the rest of his campaign defending against baseless slurs.  The Governor went on to say “Well I think Harry Reid has lost a lot of credibility on a lot of fronts".  No doubt about it, Sen. Reid is simply doing his best schoolyard bully impersonation; actions far below the station of a sitting Senate Majority Leader.

But why is Harry Reid taking partisanship to this new low?  His actions are eerily reminiscent of Sen. Joseph McCarthy’s communist witch hunts during the Red Scare of the 1950’s.  No proof is necessary.  Just make the baseless claim and demand proof to the contrary.  According to the Constitution WE ARE ALL INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY, Harry.  Then again, based on his legislative track record, it is clear that Reid has never read the Constitution.

This is partisan politics taken too far.  Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid used his office to commandeer the Senate floor all so that he could make a baseless attack on his political rival.  Perhaps Senate Floor time would have been better spent looking for ways to pay down the debt after Obama and Reid’s failed stimulus programs.  Or maybe the Senate could have been discussing ways to create jobs as unemployment rates hit record numbers again and again.

We MUST send Dirty Harry a message that his behavior on the Senate floor is unacceptable.  We must demand that the Senate censure him for his accusations.  Further, we must demand an investigation into his source.  If he does not provide the source or if no source can be found, we MUST demand that Harry Reid is impeached.

We must also hold Nanny State Nancy accountable for backing up Reid’s comments.  She is Minority Leader of the House and should be censured for her statements regarding the baseless accusations made on the Senate floor.

Stand with us today and tell Congress that these Socialist leaders must be censured for their actions and demand an investigation culminating in the possible impeachment of Harry Reid for statements he made on the Senate floor!
