Last week, the House held a vote to impeach former Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas. Shockingly, three RINOS voted NO. This week, on Tuesday, the House held another vote to impeach Mayorkas, this time with Steve Scalise, who was absent last week. This impeachment vote was extremely narrow, as the same three RINOS who bailed Mayorkas out last week once again kept their opposition to impeaching him. Now that Mayorkas is impeached, Congress must charge him with the high crimes and misdemeanors he is guilty of and get to work on securing our border, specifically by bringing H.R.2 to the floor and passing it! 

Mayorkas has finally, and fortunately, been impeached in a narrow vote held Tuesday. Democrats, as usual, remained united against a measure that they claim will NOT benefit the people and all voted NO to impeaching Mayorkas. The GOP, save for the same three RINOS from last week, voted yes, ultimately leading to Mayorkas’s official impeachment. This is a victory for the United States and her people!

Mayorkas was accused and impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors as he willfully and systematically refused to comply with the law in enforcing border policy and breached public trust. Congress must ensure that Mayorkas is not let off easy and actually faces legal consequences for his high crimes and misdemeanors!

The open border policy that Mayorkas upheld used US tax dollars to feed, clothe, house, and transport millions of illegal aliens across the entire country. He, alongside Biden, aided and abetted an invasion against the American people. It should have never been a debate to remove him from his office, which is why it is so shameful that three GOP members voted not just against their party, but against the will of the people, their constituents. We the people will be voting Ken Buck, Tom McClintock, and Mike Gallagher OUT come election season for this betrayal.

With the removal of Mayorkas, Congress must get back into gear with securing and CLOSING our borders, namely the southern border. Last week, Schumer introduced his border bill, which did not pass, that would not secure the border nor stop the chaos there, but HR2 does!

H.R. 2 would require DHS to resume activities related to building a wall along the southwestern border of the United States, as planned or under construction before January 20, 2021 (the date on which that project was paused), and would require DHS to construct at least 900 miles of wall and physical barriers along that border. The bill also would direct Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to hire enough border patrol agents to maintain staffing at 22,000.

This bill only addresses the crisis at the border and seeks to actively secure and close it, which is why Schumer has not let it off his desk because it directly solves the crisis at our border without involving any other sly political maneuver. H.R. 2 is not just another piece of legislation; it is a lifeline for our nation's security and sovereignty. Congress MUST demand it is brought to the floor!
