Congress has subpoenaed millions of documents surrounding the Obama administration's efforts to spy on the Trump campaign.
That is a legal and constitutional legislative power. Congress has the right to oversee government policies and investigate criminal bureaucrats.
Devin Nunes gave the FBI and DOJ one final deadline. Paul Ryan forced him to give the Deep Staters more time.
That deadline was yesterday at 5pm. It came and went and only some of the documents were handed over.
For weeks, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein had been ignoring Congress' subpoena. But yesterday, he finally responded.
He told Congress that he will not be giving them the documents he subpoenaed and he will continue to keep the FBI's spying against the Trump campaign secret.
Paul Ryan had his chance to smooth things over. He gave the FBI and DOJ more time than he should have to comply.
Rod Rosenstein just told Congress to pound sand. He must be removed!
Congress demanded that the DOJ hand over evidence of its attempts to spy on the Trump campaign. That wasn't a request. Their subpoena carries the full force of law.
The Deputy Attorney General -- the man in charge of enforcing the law -- just told Congress that he will not obey it.
Rod Rosenstein is a criminal.
But we already knew he was shady.
Rosenstein sent Donald Trump a letter suggesting that he fire James Comey for his handling of the Clinton email investigation. When Trump accepted the advice and fired Comey, Rosenstein appointed Mueller as Special Counsel and allowed him to investigate... Trump's firing of Comey!
Even though the DOJ Inspector General just completely affirmed that Trump was right to fire Comey, Rosenstein is still allowing Mueller to investigate Trump for obstruction.
This man is beyond dirty.
The GOP establishment is scrambling to figure out a way to save these Deep State criminals. But they're out of time.
Rod Rosenstein must be held in Contempt of Congress and removed from office, and it has to happen now!
Don't let Congress pull another fast one. The Freedom Caucus has promised to hold Rosenstein in Contempt if he defied the subpoena. Devin Nunes, the Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, promised the same. Even Paul Ryan himself went on the record saying that Contempt would be necessary if Rosenstein refused to hand over all of the documents.
Well, that is exactly what happened. Rod Rosenstein didn't just ignore the subpoena, he openly declared that he would never comply with it.
The Founders knew a day would come when corruption would infect the highest levels of government. They deliberately gave Congress the power to remove government officials who break the law. We all know that Congress can impeach a President, but the truth is that Congress can impeach any government official that was confirmed. If Congress approved a nominee, they can also remove him or her. And the first step is to charge Rosenstein for his obstruction!
Please, don't let Ryan delay or drag this out any longer. Don't let them extend the deadline anymore!
