Rene Lima-Marin was convicted in Denver in 1998 of multiple counts of armed robbery. He robbed two video stores with a rifle. At sentencing, he received a 98-year prison sentence for his crimes. Due to a clerical error, he was accidentally released from prison early in 2008. Instead of Lima-Marin serving his sentences consecutively, a paperwork error had him initially serving the sentences concurrently. Once law enforcement officials realized the mistake, Marin was re-arrested in 2014 and forced to serve out the remainder of his near-century long sentence.
On Tuesday of last week, Colorado Judge Carlos Samour examined the case and determined that it would be "utterly unjust to compel Lima-Marin, at this juncture, to serve the rest of his extremely long sentence." Lima-Marin was ordered released from prison.
But Rene Lima-Marin never stepped foot outside the prison walls. ICE agents were waiting at the door to take him into custody. You see, back in 1998, an immigration judge had ordered him removed from the United States because of his criminal conviction.
This is when something truly remarkable happened. Learning that this illegal alien convicted criminal would be deported, Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper stepped in and issued a full pardon. By eliminating his criminal record, Hickenlooper hoped to stave off his deportation.
Now, ICE is trying to figure out whether they can even deport him anymore.

This man robbed two stores at gunpoint and when all of the charges were added up, he was sentenced to ninety-eight years behind bars. The year he committed this heinous crime, he was also ordered deported by an immigration judge.
Colorado's leftist governor decided that Lima-Marin was a changed man and that he should be allowed to stay in the United States. By issuing a pardon and wiping his criminal record, the Feds are now scrambling to figure out whether they can still even legally deport him.
But this is not just happening Colorado. This is happening everywhere. An illegal alien in Maryland was recently arrested after bringing a stolen police officer's AR-15 to his high school. Even though he had a lawful deportation order and was being charged with multiple felonies, the police force let him go on bail. Luckily, ICE agents were able to track him down just hours after his release.
Then there's the latest case out of Connecticut. An illegal alien named Cruz-Lopez has been charged with 103 counts of criminal mischief after he spray-painted anti-trump messages onto buildings at the University of Connecticut. This kid was one of Obama's DACA recipients. The former-President decided to give him amnesty. Now, after he admitted to defacing the buildings, he is facing down the possibility of a decades behind bars. Yet, instead of being turned over to ICE, Connecticut police released him without even forcing him to post bail.
This is just madness. These are illegal aliens who committed serious crimes. Yet, because the state and local governments disagree with the President, they were allowed to walk free.

We learned this week that not only are illegal border crossings at a 17-year low, but immigration arrests and deportations during Trump's first 100 days were up 38% over the same time period in 2016.
Here's why this is important. Barack Obama padded his deportation statistics by counting when illegal aliens in the act of crossing the border are arrested. The result was that the Obama administration created the illusion of immigration enforcement while cutting back on internal enforcement. President Trump took the shackles off of ICE and they have arrested 38% more illegal aliens while simultaneously seeing the lowest number of border crossings since 2000.
The Trump administration is focusing on internal enforcement. ICE and Border Patrol are going after the illegal immigrants with criminal records that Obama allowed to stay in the US. The Obama administration lied the the American people. They painted a picture of Barack Obama being the "Deporter in Chief" while simultaneously allowing illegal alien criminals to prey on Americans.
Now that Trump has unmasked this scheme, liberal cities and states are fighting back.
An illegal alien violent felon was pardoned to try to save him from deportation. An illegal alien teenager stole a police officer's AR-15 and brought it to school, and he was also released back into society. An illegal immigrant activist admitted to 103 counts of vandalism and he was released from prison without even having to post bail.
This is getting seriously out of hand.
