A few months ago, the GOP held a secret vote on whether to remove Liz Cheney from power within the Republican Party. She is the #3 most powerful Republican in Congress and not only helped lead the impeachment charge against Trump but she has also been trying to sabotage the Republican Party from within.
In the lead up to the secret ballot, we had the votes. More than a majority of Republicans had publicly proclaimed that they would vote to remove Cheney from power. But when it actually came time to vote, something happened behind those closed doors. Instead of being removed as House Republican Caucus Chair, Liz Cheney survived the vote.
We still don't know precisely what happened. If it was like any other Congressional vote, though, there were likely threats made and plenty of arm-twisting.
How did Cheney respond? Did she keep her head down and count her lucky stars that she wasn't dragged out of office? No. She doubled down and got even more rabidly anti-Conservative!
During the GOP's retreat in Florida (which Cheney refused to invite Donald Trump to), Liz Cheney told reporters that anyone who doubts Joe Biden's legitimacy should be blocked from running for President in 2024. Yes, she actually said that.
She also came out and endorsed Nancy Pelosi's plan to investigate the January 6th Capitol Protest the same way Congress investigated 9/11. Yes, she actually said that.
When Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN), chair of the Republican Study Committee, released a memo urging the GOP to fight for working class Americans that Democrats are leaving behind, Cheney called it "neo-Marzist." Yes, she actually said that.
And then, as Joe Biden was sauntering down the aisle to give his lie-filled address to a practically empty Congress (and practically non-existent television audience), Liz Cheney rushed over to give the "President" a celebratory fist-bump. Yes, she actually did that.
Enough is enough. It is already hard enough having to fight against Leftist Democrats. Having a Leftist in the #3 leadership position in the GOP is simply unacceptable!
Here is the good news: The sun is setting on Liz Cheney. In the most recent polling, Cheney only has a 27% approval rating in Wyoming (and only 7% said they had a "very favorable" opinion of her).
Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy denounced Cheney's continued attacks on President Trump, proclaiming that it is "unproductive" to have such an anti-Trump distraction in the GOP leadership. Rep. Banks - who chairs one of the most powerful Conservative caucuses in Congress - declared that Liz Cheney had become an "unwelcome distraction." The #2 ranked Republican, Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA), was a little more diplomatic, instead criticizing Cheney for trying to remove Trump from the party: "He has a lot to offer still."
Liz Cheney's political career is on life support. How did she respond to all of this news? Liz Cheney told a reporter that she will spend every day of the week talking about how Donald Trump caused an "insurrection" and deserved to be impeached.
Liz Cheney MUST be removed from power!
Some Republicans are now quietly predicting that Liz Cheney will be removed as Chair of the Republican Caucus by the end of the month.
That is too long of a wait. This anti-Conservative RINO taitor needs to be removed NOW!
Why do you think the GOP is turning on her? Because they don't want to be taken down with her. They know that she is doomed politically and are desperate to save themselves.
If the vote was held today, she would be dragged out of power. It is up to YOU to force that vote!
