Everybody panic … over nothing.
President Barack Obama continued his war on America (or, the fundamental transformation, as he calls it), when he gave a speech at Georgetown and proclaimed his next big task is to tackle climate change via his new “Climate Action Plan.”
Yes, as Americans struggle to find work, ambassadors are abandoned by our government, the IRS targets conservatives, our Second Amendment rights come under attack and our freedoms are pulled out from under us, our President is asking everyone to look the other way as he damages the economy further, grows government and creates massive programs based on lies and misinformation.
Crisis after crisis after crisis: Americans have reason to be very worried, according to Barack Obama. Ever since he took office, he claims we have been in a constant state of emergency and the only solution is for us to take his hand and allow him to lead us to safety through socialist programs, taxes and crushing regulations.
He is right about something: the day he was elected, Americans did enter crisis mode. The entire country is at war on a daily basis with his agenda. And now he wants to implement sweeping climate change regulations that will damage us further. Tell Congress to stop this ridiculous global warming charade based on manipulated “science.” Stop Obama’s climate change agenda.
Obama tweeted on May 16th: “Ninety-seven percent of scientists agree climate change is real, man-made and dangerous.” Perhaps this was in preparation for his Georgetown speech.
It was also faulty math, based on faulty science.
The truth is that Australian global-warming activist John Cook did a study that the mainstream media (of course) accepted whole-heartedly, even though experts found Cook’s study was deeply flawed and altered in order to promote the liberal climate change hysteria. What’s more, only 65 percent of experts who looked at Cook’s study endorsed his view. That is not, as our President claims, 97 percent. But the way Cook “cooked” the books, it was Al Gore and Barack Obama’s convenient truth to use the 97 percent number.
Scientists who served on the United Nations’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) say there is no “scientific consensus” on climate change and they do not agree that the science is “settled.” One of these scientists, Richard S.J. Tol, a former IPCC panel member and currently a professor of the economics of climate change at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, demonstrated the biased and shady methods Cook used in his study. In a nutshell, what Cook did was drop papers and studies done by those who disagree with global warming, thereby skewing his results.
But don’t take our word for it, or even Professor Tol’s. Listen to Cook himself outline his plan:
It's essential that the public understands that there's a scientific consensus on AGW [anthropogenic (man-made) global warming]. So Jim Powell, Dana and I have been working on something over the last few months that we hope will have a game changing impact on the public perception of consensus.
I anticipate there will be around 6000 "neutral" papers. So what I was thinking of doing next was a public crowd sourcing project where the public are given the list of neutral papers and links to the full paper — if they find evidence of an endorsement, they submit it to SkS (Skeptical Science)…. Thus over time, we would gradually process the 6000 neutral papers, converting many of them to endorsement papers — and make regular announcements like "hey the consensus just went from 99.75% to 99.8%, here are the latest papers with quotes."
Cook went on to sketch out an entire promotional campaign utilizing press releases, major media programs, booklets, Kindle/iBooks, blogs, etc. “We beat the consensus drum often and regularly and make SkS the home of the perceived strengthening consensus.
What legitimate scientist do you know who plans a marketing campaign before he has even conducted the study? Major changes are about to come to the United States, based on junk science like Cook’s study and others who are marching to the beat of Al Gore’s fake climate change drum.

Senator Joe Manchin—a Democrat from West Virginia—responded to Barack Obama’s “war on coal” speech critically, calling it “irresponsible.” He went on to say:
We’re looking for an all-in energy policy that basically secures our nation, makes us less dependent on foreign oil or foreign energy, and we can do that, but we have to use everything we have, in balance with the environment and economy. If you look at this in the big picture, eight billion tons of coal is being burned in the world. And if we talk about the environment and climate….the globe is round and climate is all around, if they believe that we stop burning coal in America completely…one-eighth the consumption of the world, that we’re going to clean up the environment. They believe the world is still flat.”
Manchin’s point that an end to coal will act as a tiny ripple in the ocean is a good one. The Germans spend about $110 billion on subsidies for solar panels … and in return, a study has just found they are postponing global warming—if at all—by only 37 hours by the end of the century.
And, the European model that Obama wants to implement here isn’t working out so well over there, as German companies are fleeing to the United States to escape crushing costs and regulations.
An article in Deutsche Welle reports, “Soaring German energy costs in the wake of the country’s transition to renewable energy have seen more and more firms thinking about relocating their operations. If we don’t get on top of the country’s energy transition to renewables and are not able to rein in energy costs in the process, German industry’s competitiveness stands to suffer.”
So, naturally, this looks like a good plan to Barack Obama. Higher costs, slower growth and more taxes—where do we sign up?
The British Economist wrote in a June 20th article that, “the public has been systematically deceived” about the approaching climate change apocalypse and the urgent need for drastic measures to address it.”
The facts must not have made it to Obama’s teleprompter. Fax Congress today and tell them to put a lid on Obama’s grand climate change scheme.
Sincerely,
Joe Otto
