Some Congressmen genuinely care about representing their constituents. However, most of those in Congressional leadership seem to prioritize their own survival. Being a Congressman or Senator is supposed to be service, however it far too often becomes just another career for these people.

They only seem to care about one thing: 'What do I need to do or say to keep my job?'

For the past nine years, House and Senate Republicans have been promising a Conservative agenda. And because of those promises, Conservatives have come out in droves to give Republicans control of the House and Senate.

With the midterm elections less than 100 days away, we are seeing the GOP radically swing to the Left. We've already seen it on immigration and Donald Trump has threatened to shut down the government if the Republicans abandon their immigration promises.

But that isn't the only surrender happening right now. GOP leaders are desperate to "compromise" with Democrats on the 2nd Amendment.

I've said it before, but I'll say it again. When you hear gun control advocates demand a "compromise," what they really mean is that you won't have to give up all of your guns. Notice how gun owners and constitutionalists never get anything in these compromises.

The GOP knows they can't get a new assault weapon ban through Congress. They tried even to push a bill to raise the gun-owning age from 18 to 21, but Conservatives killed that plan. It would have disarmed tens of millions of law-abiding adults for absolutely no reason.

Now, they're pushing the "compromise:" they want to make it easier for state and local police to confiscate your firearms!

Tell Congress right now to kill the Katko gun confiscation bill before it's too late!

Take Rep. John Katko (R-NY) as an example. As recently as last year, the National Rifle Association gave him an A rating on supporting the 2nd Amendment. Katko even co-sponsored the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act to extend nationwide carry rights to law-abiding Americans. He voted to remove suppressors from the purview of the NFA, allowing them to be bought with just a simple background check and voted for the Veterans 2nd Amendment Protection Act to stop the VA from unconstitutionally disarming American veterans. I could go down the list, but this man has voted for practically every single pro-gun bill. It was to the point that prominent gun control groups actually graded him as an "F" on gun control.

After the Florida high school shooting -- you remember, the one where the FBI was warned about the shooter, but did nothing -- Katko's position all of a sudden changed. He suddenly voiced support for disarming tens of millions of Americans between 18- and 21-years-old and said he was considering supporting a ban on semi-automatic weapons.

"I understand I'm going to get a lot of people mad at me," Rep. Katko admitted. As a result, the Brady Campaign -- formerly known as the Coalition to Ban Handguns -- changed their gun control score for Katko from 0% to 60%

But his latest gun control push is perhaps the most dangerous. Katko is introducing legislation to encourage state and local police to disarm Americans. Not when they are charged or convicted of a crime, mind you. This bill would let police disarm gun owners based on nothing but hearsay.

No charges... no trial... no convictions. Just police "thinking" someone might be dangerous.

Forget about 'innocent until proven guilty.' This new bill turns that upside down and presumes that gun owners are guilty until proven innocent.

This bill has 100% Democrat support. That means that with just 25 Republican turncoats, it can pass through through Congress.

According to our count, at least two dozen Republicans have signed onto the Left's most recent gun control demands, namely the semi-auto ban and the bill to rage the gun-owning age to 21. Add in Katko and they have 25.

Moderate Republicans are demanding that Ryan and McConnell give them a gun control bill to vote on. They think that will help them win re-election. The GOP leadership has decided to give in and put this gun confiscation bill to a vote!

Don't let gun confiscation become the law of the land! Send your instant message to Congress and DEMAND they kill the Katko bill before it gains any momentum!

I have no problem with disarming criminals. But we have a process for that. If someone is breaking the law, then they need to be charged with a crime. If they are found guilty of a felony or certain violent misdemeanors, then they will have to surrender their guns.

I also support making sure that the mentally ill don't have access to weapons, but we have a process for that too. They can either be involuntarily committed to a mental institution or adjudicated as being mentally defective.

There are also provisions in the law for police to disarm illegal aliens, fugitives from justice, and people who are dishonorably discharged from the military.

There are already plenty of ways for local, state, and federal law enforcement to disarm dangerous individuals. But instead of going after only the real criminals, this new gun confiscation bill would put us ALL in the crosshairs.

If an angry family member, neighbor, or even complete stranger tells police that you are dangerous, they would be able to take your guns away. They wouldn't even need to charge you with a crime.

I know people who have been abused like this. They end up divorcing their wives and the next thing they know, they have a restraining order against them and all of their guns are taken away. When you give people the power to inflict pain on others, they take advantage of it. This law will be grossly abused.

Democrats have one goal: to make gun ownership a crime. This bill takes a huge step towards that by presuming that all gun owners are dangerous.

The GOP is looking to bring this bill up for a vote as soon as possible. We can still stop this, but only if we act fast!

Kill this gun confiscation bill now! Send your instant FaxBlast to Congress and FORCE them to kill the Katko bill, or else!

Sincerely,

Max McGuire
