Breaking News: Establishment Republicans are using the Mueller Report news to try to sneak a massive gun confiscation bill through committee TOMORROW!

The Mueller report is dominating the news, as it should. But whenever there is a major news story like this, we always look to see what the establishment is trying to push through while the rest of the country isn't looking.

Sure enough, the Senate Judiciary Committee is holding a hearing tomorrow on Senate Bill 7, the Extreme Risk Protection Order and Violence Prevention Act.

The legislation, co-authored by Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Susan Collins (R-ME) is being pushed through tomorrow as a "compromise" gun control bill. If passed, it would give local and state police unparalleled power to confiscate guns from innocent Americans!

This is not a drill. The committee vote is tomorrow. You must stop this GOP gun control surrender right now!

Don't let the Republicans cave on the Second Amendment! Tell Congress right now that they must KILL the Extreme Risk Protection Order and Violence Prevention Act before it's too late!

You have a right to keep and bear arms. That is important to clarify because, as a right, the government can't just take your guns away. They need to provide a good reason to justify disarmament. Under the law, that typically involves convicting someone of a crime or having them adjudicated mentally defective.

The Rubio-Collins bill, however, gets rid of the government's burden of proof all together. Under this Red Flag bill, police and prosecutors would be able to petition a judge for a disarmament order without actually having to prove anything. Angry neighbors and family members would suddenly get the power to turn gun owners into police. Officers and prosecutors would then be able to use this hearsay to petition a judge for a confiscation order.

But the accused gun owner doesn't get to mount a defense against these accusations until after their guns are taken away. That's right, the Red Flag bills call for what is known as an ex parte hearing: a hearing where the accused isn't even present. Once the guns are confiscated, it would then be up to the gun owner to prove to a judge that he or she deserves their rights back. If a judge doesn't find their argument convincing, they can extend the disarmament order for up to a year.

All of this happens without the government even needing to accuse the gun owner of committing a crime...

In every state that has passed a similar law, these disarmament powers have been abused. Take Maryland as an example. 61-year-old Gary Willis was shot and killed in his doorway last year when he refused to hand over his guns to police during a 5 a.m. confiscation raid. A family member had told police he was dangerous after she lost an argument days prior. It looks like that was her way of getting back at Gary...

When Florida passed a similar law, politicians promised that it would be used sparingly. In just the last year, more than 1,000 gun owners have been stripped of their rights without due process.

We all know someone who has gone through a rough break-up or divorce. We all know someone who has family or neighborhood drama. If Senate Bill 7 passes, it will be abused.

There is no such thing as a "compromise" gun control bill. Leftists want complete disarmament. Compromising or meeting them halfway only brings them closer to their goal.

But that is exactly what Lindsey Graham and the GOP are about to do...

The GOP leadership is trying to ram this bill through this week because they know the rest of the country is all focused on the Mueller Report. They are counting on you not fighting back. They know that's the only way they can slip this disarmament bill through.

Don't let them!

Stop this gun control surrender before it's too late! Send your instant and urgent FaxBlast to Congress and ORDER them to KILL Senate Bill 7 immediately, or else!

Fight for your rights,

Joe Otto
