I read something the other day that brought tears to my eyes. Across the world, the biggest cause of death in 2018 was induced abortion. At least 41.9 million unborn babies were killed during abortion procedures worldwide last year. Just to put that in perspective, 8 million people died from cancer worldwide last year...
When President Trump first took office, he signed an executive order reinstating a Reagan-era plan called the Mexico City Policy. Trump's order banned the Federal government from funding any overseas organization that performed, supported, or promoted abortions.
The administration ended up cutting 8.8 billion in funding to these abortion organizations that Obama's government had authorized. That led to millions fewer abortions than the World Health Organization had expected there to be.
I want to reiterate this, because it is extremely important: President Trump saved millions of babies' lives when he reinstated the Mexico City Policy and cut off taxpayer funding to abortion providers.
This was a clear victory. The American people elected a pro-life President and he cut off funding to these overseas abortion organizations, like the International Planned Parenthood Federation.
Democrats haven't even held control for a week yet and they're already trying to give it all back!
It should not come as a surprise that Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats are now pushing through a bill to increase foreign aid and send American taxdol.lars back to these abortion organizations!
The Democrats' spending plan -- which they are using to try to re-open the Federal government -- allocates more than 12 billion towards new foreign aid programs. This includes restored funding for many of the foreign abortion providers that Trump cut.
For example, the package would include giving an additional 700 million to the United Nations, specifically the UN's Population Fund, one of the largest pro-abortion advocates on the planet.
Late last year, I told you that Paul Ryan was trying to sneak through a major foreign aid spending increase instead of the border wall funding. Ryan is gone, but now Pelosi and the Democrats are picking up the mantle and trying to re-open abortion clinics worldwide.
One of our goals for 2019 is to really dive into the Democrats' legislation and blow the whistle on dangerous amendments buried deep in the bills. They are hoping that you don't see what they're doing. In fact, they're counting on it.
The unborn are the most vulnerable among us. They are literally powerless to protect themselves. Only you can defend them.
And now that you know what the Left is trying to sneak through, you have an obligation to stop them before it's too late!
