This is a big deal.
When James Comey was the FBI director, he had an obligation to provide President-Elect Donald Trump with intelligence briefings in the lead-up to the inauguration. When Trump was sworn in, Comey had a responsibility to honestly and faithfully keep the President apprised about the FBI's on-going investigations.
James Comey looked President Trump in the eyes and told him that he was not under investigation.
But we now know that was a lie. It is well documented that the anti-Trump FBI agents were spying on Trump's campaign associates. The FBI literally dispatched assets to try to entrap Trump associates and catch them committing crimes. But now we know that the James Comey was also spying on Donald Trump himself!
Not through the official channels, mind you. There was no warrant... no legitimate surveillance... The FBI considered surveilling Donald Trump, but determined that there was not ample evidence to justify spying on the President. We know these discussions took place because Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein infamously offered to go into the Oval Office wearing a wire...
Anti-Trump FBI agents tried to get permission to spy on the President himself, but they were turned down because that surveillance would be illegal and unconstitutional.
That should have been the end of it. But we now know that James Comey ignored the law and the Constitution and spied on Donald Trump himself!
The DOJ Inspector General is now investigating James Comey for launching an extra-legal "covert operation" to use assets inside the White House to spy on Donald Trump. Comey told other FBI officials that he was conducting his own "counter-intelligence assessment of the President."
Just so we're clear, Comey convinced a White House employee to flip on the President and to feed him information about what Trump was saying and doing.
No probable cause... no surveillance warrant... no going through the official channels... James Comey went rogue and spied on the President himself!
The whole Russia investigation was built on a sham. But Congressional leadership is blocking an investigation into these Deep State crimes!
This is absolutely shocking. We now know that the Head of the FBI was personally running an illegal surveillance probe against the President of the United States. Not because the evidence justified it -- it didn't -- but rather because Comey had a hunch that Trump was a Russian spy.
Comey broke the law and countless FBI regulations to unconstitutionally spy on the President of the United States. When he was discovered, he was fired. And when Comey was fired, the Deep State used that as the excuse to appoint Robert Mueller as the Special Counsel.
There is a principle in law known as the "fruit of the poisonous tree." The concept states that when an investigation breaks the law or acts unethically to either launch an investigation or to compile evidence, nothing after that point can be admissible. For example, if a police officer kicks down your door without a warrant, he can't arrest you if he finds something illegal inside your home.
This Comey bombshell is no different.
Officially, the FBI rejected Peter Strzok's request to spy on Donald Trump directly. But unofficially, James Comey took it upon himself to go outside the law and investigate it himself.
This is just the latest example of the Deep State's crimes. We have covered, in depth, all of the crimes committed by the Deep State when they illegally launched this anti-Trump investigation.
But both parties in Congress are blocking this investigation from moving forward. Democrats in the House are only allowing the hearings to cover removing President Trump from office and Senate Republicans have decided to defer to the DOJ to investigate and prosecute Comey's crimes.
The Democrats are covering it up and the Republicans want to let the Deep State investigate itself...
People like Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Congressmen Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and Louie Gohmert (R-TX) are trying to hold these Deep State criminals accountable. But they need your help getting this investigation launched!
The only way to get justice... the only way to make sure this never happens again... is if these Deep State criminals are held to account for their crimes.
We now have evidence that James Comey broke the law to illegally spy on the President of the United States. There was never probably cause to launch such an investigation and the FBI had formally denied other agents' requests to spy on Trump, but Comey launched it anyway.
And yet, the GOP leadership says we should trust the Deep State to decide whether or not Comey is punished for this. They are working with the Democrats to block a detailed investigation into these crimes from moving forward.
This CANNOT be allowed to happen!
We are launching a campaign to bury Congress with a quarter million FaxBlasts demanding that Comey's crimes be fully investigated and referred for prosecution.
