As he was about to leave for the World Economic Forum in Switzerland, he dropped a bombshell: He'd give Democrats exactly the amnesty plan they wanted -- including a pathway to citizenship for 1.8 million illegal aliens -- in return for a full border wall and serious immigration reforms.
I looked at this and gasped. How could Trump possibly offer all of this up front? Was he mad?
Conservative Republicans were furious. I figured that Democrats would surely take the deal. Instead, they rejected Trump's offer. Actually, "rejected" is a bit of an understatement. They spit all over it.
"The administration's anti-immigrant framework is an act of staggering cowardice which attempts to hold the DREAMers hostage to a hateful anti-immigrant scheme," Nancy Pelosi declared.
"This plan flies in the face of what most Americans believe," Chuck Schumer decried.
Trump offered to give the Democrats more than everything they wanted. All they had to agree to was building a wall and reforming immigration programs like chain migration and the visa lottery. They spit in Trump's face.
They don't care about illegal immigrants. To them, politics is a zero-sum game: in order for Democrats to win, Trump must lose.
This gives Trump and the GOP an opening. Democrats aren't interested in passing an immigration bill. It is time to force the GOP to go nuclear!
The only reason Democrats are even involved in these discussions is because it takes 60-votes in the Senate to move to a final vote on legislation. Since Republicans only have 51 votes in the Senate, that means they need to get nine Democrat votes to pass any legislation.
As we saw with the Schumer Shutdown, Democrats are more than willing to hurt the American people in order to damage Trump.
President Trump has already issued the demand. He has ordered Congress to invoke the nuclear option and take Democrats out of the equation entirely.
Sure, this carries a bit of risk. But we all know that when Democrats eventually retake control of the government, they will invoke the nuclear option themselves. Remember, it was Harry Reid who first changed the Senate rules in order to push through Obama's radical court nominees.
So the question we need to ask ourselves is do we want to seize the day and take this country back? Or let Democrats obstruct everything and undo all of Trump's accomplishments when they retake control of the government?
To me, the choice is pretty simple. Invoke the nuclear option and get to work making America great again!

Trump caught them. He offered to give them everything they want, and some, and Democrats still spit in his face and called him a racist. He played them like a fiddle.
It's time to go nuclear. Not just to prevent another government shutdown on February 8 or pass immigration reform, but also to pass major conservative bills like concealed carry reciprocity, entitlement reform, an end to government funding of abortions, and the rest of the promises that Pres. Trump ran on.
But the only way this happens is if YOU keep fighting and demand it!
