This is the moment we have been waiting for. Congress is taking up legislation this week to defund sanctuary cities that are harboring illegal alien criminals.
We all remember the tragic death of Kate Steinle who was shot dead on a San Francisco pier by an illegal alien with 7 felony convictions and 5 prior deportations.
The San Francisco Sheriff’s office had this scumbag in custody but when immigration officials asked to take possession of the criminal, San Francisco’s sanctuary city policy kicked in. They immediately cut off contact with Federal officials and released this illegal alien to go walk the streets.
By the way, the San Francisco Sheriff isn’t allowed to carry a gun because he has a criminal record and has failed every single marksmanship test…
The legislation before Congress is simple: If a city or municipality refuses to cooperate with federal immigration authorities, they will lose their law enforcement funding and grants. That money would then be given to cities that actually enforce and support our immigration laws.
If cities want to continue to harbor illegal alien rapists and murderers, then they can figure out how to fund their police programs WITHOUT Federal tax dollars!
Like all legislation that comes to a vote in Congress, the more common sense it is, the less likely it is to pass. This legislation – the Stop Sanctuary Cities Act – is just two pages long.
Democrats absolutely despise this bill. Even though it exclusively deals with illegal alien criminals, they have muddied the water in an attempt to portray this as an attack on all Hispanics.
I’m telling you… illegal aliens are too important to the Democratic Party to allow this bill to go through. They would rather suffer the deaths of Kate Steinle and others in order to protect their precious future voting block.
The fact of the matter is that these sanctuary cities are just as lawless as the illegal alien criminals they’re protecting. It is time to take them down.
This bill won’t stop all illegal alien murderers and criminals, but it will be a start. We owe this to the family of Kate Steinle and every other American who has been victimized at the hands of illegal aliens who were shielded by sanctuary cities.
How many more people need to die? How many more people need to be raped or assaulted before we force Congress to take action?
I know there is a lot going on in your life and that you’re busy.
We have been fighting for months to get this bill to the Senate floor. There are a lot of Democrats who will vote for the bill. But they are under tremendous pressure.
This vote has a real solid chance of passing but it is going to be extremely close. Sen. Harry Reid has promised the filibuster the bill for as long as possible.
