Lois Lerner’s decision to weaponize the IRS against Tea Party groups is absolutely criminal!

The House Committee on Oversight and Governmental Reform has released a 141-page report outlining the charges against Lois Lerner, the former Director of the IRS Exempt Organizations division. In the lengthy report, the Committee expands on just how Lois Lerner abused her power to achieve a political goal (ie. silencing Tea Party groups).

Even though Lois Lerner has refused to testify twice, claiming she did nothing wrong while simultaneously refusing to incriminate herself, the House Committee has compiled other testimony and evidence to show that not only was Lois Lerner’s actions politically motivated, but that she was at the heart of the scandal!

Tell Congress that enough is enough! It is time to put Lois Lerner in Jail!

The Committee Report reveals that Lois Lerner misled Congress repeatedly on her involvement in the IRS Targeting Scandal.

During a February 24, 2012 committee briefing, Lois Lerner was asked whether the criteria for evaluating tax-exempt organizations had been changed at any point. Lois Lerner responded that the criteria had never been changed. That was a lie! According to the Treasury Inspector General, Lois Lerner ordered the criteria to be changed in late June of 2011.

Lois Lerner told the Committee’s staff that the correspondence between the IRS and these Conservative groups was “in the ordinary course of the application process.” That was a lie! It is not “standard” for the IRS to ask organizations the contents of their prayers or the political beliefs of staff members!

Before she ever took the stand, Lois Lerner was caught lying in preliminary interviews. The Left is still treating this as a “phony scandal.” They are arguing that Lois Lerner is nothing but the Republicans’ latest target to try to gin up support during an election year. Barack Obama himself has promised the American people that the IRS targeting scandal does not contain even a “smidgen” of corruption.

Well, which is it? Either Barack Obama is lying to the American people and there actually is widespread corruption (in which case Lois Lerner’s decision to plead the Fifth would be justified), OR there really is nothing there and Lois Lerner is just pleading the Fifth to try and stonewall Congress.

If there truly is no corruption in this story, why is Lois Lerner pleading the Fifth? If there isn’t even a “smidgen” of corruption, what could possibly be so damning that Lois Lerner fears self-incrimination?

We know the answer… IRS agents, under the direction of Lois Lerner herself, systematically targeted Conservative groups and delayed their application processing during an election year. The evidence proves that and Lois Lerner must be held accountable!

Congress has the Constitutional power to hold Lois Lerner in contempt and place her in the Capitol jail until she agrees to testify. Now, they have the evidence to support this action. Yet, they still do nothing!

Tell Congress that enough is enough! It is time to put Lois Lerner in Jail!

In his 2010 State of the Union Address, Barack Obama took time to chastise the Supreme Court’s decision in Citizens United v. FEC. During his speech, Obama remarked that “the Supreme Court reversed a century of law that I believe will open the floodgates for special interests – including foreign corporations – to spend without limit in our elections." Most memorably, Justice Samuel Alito was seen shaking his head and mouthing the words “not true” while the Democrats in Congress stood up, surrounding the Justices, and cheered on the President.

Now, documents have been revealed that show Lois Lerner had the same fixation with Citizens United as her boss. Coincidence? Emails released show that Lerner was hopeful that the IRS could reassert its authority by going around the Supreme Court and maybe even use these cases as a reason to go back to trial!

Beyond the obvious problem that we see here with the government’s decision to target opposition groups, this investigation has also shown a serious separation of powers issue that has been developing. Instead of faithfully executing the laws written by Congress or accepting Supreme Court rulings, the Obama administration, from top to bottom, has done everything in its power to overrule the other two branches of government!

The Supreme Court ruled that it was unconstitutional to place a limitation on how much money an organization can spend on political advocacy because that would effectively violate their first amendment right to free speech. Since speech, in many cases, costs money, limiting how much money can be spent is clearly a violation of free speech rights.

The left doesn’t see it that way. The left wants to control how much any individual or group of individuals can affect politics. They would much rather the real decision-making be left to the uninformed voters and illegal aliens who pack the Democrat voter rolls! God forbid an actual small business owner try to stand up for his or her rights!

This is all part of a bigger issue! Yes, the IRS targeting scandal is important, but how many people does it actually affect? A few hundred organizations?

Compare that to the Affordable Care Act. Millions of people have seen price increases and have been kicked off of their insurance all together because of Obamacare. And do you know what is happening? The people are voting and letting their feelings be heard.

The recent Florida special election is hugely important. The GOP Candidate, David Jolly, ran a campaign against Obamacare. The Democrats tried everything they could to beat him and they poured millions of dollars into the race. None of the Democrats’ attempts worked because ultimately, the people decide what happens in government.

We need this same type of voter outrage over the IRS scandal. We need conservatives everywhere to reach out to their Legislators and let them know that they’ll be voting on this issue!

I am tired of watching this administration violate the constitution, only to stonewall congressional investigations. And I am tired of watching Congress tiptoe around the issues because they are too afraid of what needs to be done!

Tell Congress that enough is enough! It is time to put Lois Lerner in Jail!
