Article II, Section 4 of the Constitution provides that: “The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors."

Various petitions calling for Barack Obama’s impeachment are circulating the Web. Here at Conservative Daily we have outlined a list of complaints against him, and we have said that although there are many things he has done that we disagree with—and even consider “borderline” criminal behavior—not all of these actions rise to the level of “high crimes and misdemeanors.” But we would like to examine what actions Obama has taken that could be considered an impeachable offense according to the U.S. Constitution.

Obama authorized the use of military force in Libya without Congressional approval. After criticism Obama said, “I don’t even have to get to the Constitutional question.” And then he claimed the United Nations (U.N.) Security Council authorized his declaration.

Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution reserves for Congress alone the power to declare war…not the United Nations.

Obama appointed three officials to the National Labor Relations Board in January without Senate approval—even though the Senate was in pro forma session.

Article II, Section 2 of the Constitution gives the President authority to appoint senior federal officials if the Senate is in recess. In this case, they were not.

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.” – Presidential Oath of Office, U.S.A.

If you refuse to enforce our laws is that considered impeachable?  Is violating the Oath of Office? His Justice Department announced it will refuse to enforce the Defense of Marriage Act, and Obama’s DHS announced it will stop deporting illegals who are married to homosexuals. He is suing states that want to enforce our immigration law. He ignored the WARN Act just before the election. He refused to prosecute New Black Panther Party members who disenfranchised voters in Pennsylvania.

And then, there is the Benghazi tragedy. Whether Obama’s actions are considered impeachable or just shameful is a matter of debate. What we do know is that our Libyan Ambassador, J. Christopher Stevens, and three other Americans are dead because “Commander in Chief” Obama—supposedly the protector of the American people—did absolutely nothing to help them when they came under attack in Benghazi. He didn’t send support. He didn’t call for reinforcements. He watched the attack and (presumably) ordered the CIA to “stand down.”

Then, he lied about what happened to cover up his misdeed and tamp down the controversy before the election. The administration knew that Al-Qaeda had orchestrated the attack; yet, they did nothing, and worse, we are discovering he not only is guilty of inaction, but making it clear no one was to help.

He was supposed to be their Commander-in-Chief; instead, he left them behind.

Disrespecting our Constitution and wanting to change what it actually may not constitute an impeachable offense, although, it is a “high crime and misdemeanor” to some people—especially those of us who hold it sacred to the foundation of this country.

Also, appointing thirty-something “czars” accountable only to him is also not a crime, but more of an abuse of executive privilege—something we’ve seen a lot during his four years in office.

Many of his actions seem to indicate Obama feels he is above the law, as when he refuses to abide by the laws our country has in place. There is a reason certain types of criminals are not able to vote; as Roger Clegg, president of the conservative advocacy group Center for Equal Opportunity, sums it up, "If you aren't willing to follow the law, you can't claim the right to make the law for everyone else."

Yet, there is increasing evidence that the current occupant of the White House is guilty of criminal behavior—yet there he sits, making laws for everyone else while ignoring the ones we already have on the books.

Admittedly, even if the House were to vote on articles of impeachment, the Democrat-led Senate would almost certainly fail to convict. However, the impeachment would be a message loud and clear that the People will not tolerate criminal behavior in our White House; and those in Congress who failed to do their duty and govern by the Constitution would likely be weakened in the next elections.

Arguing for impeachment is one more way to get Washington to listen to our complaints. If they don’t take it seriously, that is at their peril.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit heard a lawsuit relating to Obama’s NLRB appointments. Judge Thomas B. Griffith noted that, “Once you remove yourself from the principles set forth in the Constitution…you are adrift.”

Whether one is a fan of Barack Obama’s politics or not, as American citizens, we have a job, and that is to make sure that we are not adrift as a nation, as Judge Griffith warned.

America needs a President who cares about the well being of the citizens of the United States and will protect us from any threat, foreign or domestic. It is time Congress put President Barack Hussein Obama on trial and makes him answer for his disregard of the law and lies.  Obama believes he has a blank check upon which to write his lies and deceit and political games. Stop his conspiracy against the United States. Fax Congress and demand the impeachment of the President IMMEDIATELY.
