If the political left did not have double standards, they would have no standards at all. Democrats did not care when Barack Obama golfed -- including during and immediately after high profile crises -- and criticized any Conservatives who dared try to make Obama's golf a political issue.

However, when President Donald Trump decides to golf, all of a sudden it is a full-blown crisis. Over the weekend, President Trump spent part of his Sunday golfing at his resort in Sterling, Virginia. It is important to note that during his time in office, Barack Obama spent seven of eight Memorial Day weekends at the golf course, including in 2009 during the H1N1 "Swine Flu" pandemic.

Democrats understand the hypocrisy of blasting Trump for golfing when they gave Obama a pass, which is why this time, they have sought to criticize Trump by comparing him to Joe Biden. Here is a real social media post from Sawyer Hackett, a former Obama administration official.



Democrats are now claiming that Donald Trump golfed instead of paying his respects to the fallen on Memorial Day.

There is just one problem. This meme is a lie.

Donald Trump did not golf on Memorial Day Monday. He golfed on Sunday.

On Monday, Trump and Pence paid their respects at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery.



Immediately after, Trump traveled to Fort McHenry in Maryland to give a speech honoring the sacrifices made by over 1.3 million American men and women in uniform since the Revolutionary War.



While Trump did golf over Memorial Day weekend, the comparison made by Sawyer Hackett and other Democrats, claiming that Trump golfed while Biden visited a Veterans Memorial in Delaware, is False and deliberately manipulative.

Monday marked the first day since the pandemic began that Joe Biden ventured outside his house for a media-covered event. Even though he was outdoors and only within arms-reach of his wife, who he presumably spends time with unmasked, Biden still chose to wear a mask during his trip to a veterans memorial in Delaware. Considering that his mask in this scenario served no medical purpose, it is obvious that it was for optics. Though, that isn't all that surprising given how Biden has actually been seen wearing a mask inside his own house.

If Democrats are insistent on politicizing Trump's golf outing, a true apples-to-apples comparison would present Trump golfing alongside a picture of Joe Biden hiding in his home.
