Democrats who helped to pass Obamacare are beginning to back off of their whole-hearted support of the socialistic “affordable” healthcare act especially those who are up for re-election.
But is there no shame in Congress? After passing the most irresponsible piece of legislation since World War Two, Congress is considering being EXEMPT from the ravages of Obamacare---the “ravages” that American taxpayers will be paying more money for their healthcare costs.
Politico reports: Congressional leaders in both parties are engaged in high-level, confidential talks about exempting lawmakers and Capitol Hill aides from the insurance exchanges they are mandated to join as part of President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul, sources in both parties said. The talks — which involve Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), the Obama administration and other top lawmakers — are extraordinarily sensitive, with both sides acutely aware of the potential for political fallout from giving carve-outs from the hugely controversial law to 535 lawmakers and thousands of their aides. Discussions have stretched out for months, sources said. …If Capitol Hill leaders move forward with the plan, they risk being dubbed hypocrites by their political rivals and the American public. By removing themselves from a key Obamacare component, lawmakers and aides would be held to a different standard than the people who put them in office. …There is concern in some quarters that the provision requiring lawmakers and staffers to join the exchanges, if it isn’t revised, could lead to a “brain drain” on Capitol Hill, as several sources close to the talks put it.

Do you believe that lawmakers should be exempt from Obamacare? Of course not!
This latest move by Congress is the ultimate hypocrisy. Even in secret, lawmakers are trying to exempt themselves from Obamacare.
YOUR insurance premiums are set to go through the roof shortly; yet the White House is in cahoots with Congress to make them EXEMPT from socialized medicine costs.
Not only must we hold our legislators accountable for trying to be exempt from Obamacare, we must do our very best to urge them to DEFUND and even REPEAL Obamacare! Even Democrats are fading in their support.
Latest polls say that over 60% of Americans want Obamacare changed in some way, shape, or form. Up for re-election, many Democrats agree with the majority in this country!
Even one of the senators who helped to craft Obamacare has openly criticized it. U. S. Senator Max Baucus (D-MT) has called Obamacare: “I just see a huge train wreck coming down!”
Democratic Senator Tom Harkin of Iowa said: “I am greatly disappointed – and beyond upset – that the administration chose to help pay for the Affordable Care Act in fiscal year 2013 by raiding the Public Health and Endowment Fund.” The White House did acknowledge that it had transferred $322 million from the prevention fund to pay for promotion of the new insurance exchanges. Isn’t that illegal?
The New York Times reports that New Hampshire Democratic Senator Jeanne Shaheen said she is “hearing from a lot of small businesses in New Hampshire that do now know how to comply with the law.” She said that many are still “trying to figure out whether it would be in their interest to reduce employees’ hours” to avoid the law’s requirement that they cover health insurance premiums for full-time workers.
Also according to the New York Times, Democratic Senator Benjamin Cardin (Maryland) said: “I am worried about big rate increases being sought by the largest health insurer in my state, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield. The company is seeking increases of roughly 25 percent for individual policies that will be sold in the state health insurance exchange, and a 15 percent increase for small businesses (just to comply with the new law).”
More and more Congressmen are echoing the complaints of their constituents. And that was even before this latest “Congressional exemption” fiasco!
Even the Republicans are trying to be exempt.
Speaker John Boehner’s spokesman, Michael Steele, tried to weasel out of commenting about the attempt of Congress and congressional aides becoming exempt; He said: “The speaker’s goal is to spare the entire country from the ravages of the president’s healthcare law. American citizens, including members of Congress and staff, who want to be freed from its mandates, approach Mr. Boehner daily. If the speaker has the opportunity to save anyone from Obamacare, he will.”
But, of course, Congress wants to be the first to be exempt!

According to the study made by The Society of Actuaries: “Health care costs in some states will rise over 80% under Obamacare with health care costs shooting up a whopping 32% across the board.”
This astounding, “deal-killer” statement did not faze President Obama and his administration at all. The headline of Investor’s Business Daily said it all: “White House Yawns as Obamacare Premium Spikes Loom.”
We must demand that Congress DEFUND and REPEAL Obamacare.
The bottom line: By exempting themselves, here is the feeling that we get: If it’s not good enough for Congress, it is probably not good enough for you and me!
However, Obamacare can STILL be defunded and its full execution can be HALTED!
YES…THERE IS STILL TIME TO INFLUENCE EVERY MEMBER OF CONGRESS TO STOP OBAMACARE FUNDING TO SAVE OUR ECONOMY!
