At this very special time of year, we wanted to wish you and your family good wishes for your Memorial Day weekend!

Memorial Day weekend can be a time of mixed feelings. On the one hand, it’s the unofficial beginning of summer, a special time to look forward to months spent outside with family and friends. On the other hand, for those mourning the loss in war of a close relative or loved one, there is a deep and personal sense of grief, mingled with feelings of patriotism and profound pride for their service.

Those mixed feelings are heightened this year as we think of all the people in storm-ravaged Oklahoma who are grieving the loss of their loved ones, their homes, and their livelihoods.  We watch in awe and gratitude as first responders rush in to rescue victims and begin to make order of the chaos.

Around the country, people will gather to remember those who, in the immortal words of Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address, gave "the last full measure of their devotion" for the country they loved – the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. armed forces throughout our country’s history, ordinary people who showed extraordinary courage and sacrifice in times of crisis.

As Ronald Reagan warned us, the real enemy was too much government.  These past few years of unelected czars and so much more have helped us to understand the enemy of the United States.  Thank you for your participation in helping to “tear down these walls!”
