In reference to the Boston Marathon bombers, CNN’s Terrorism Expert, Peter Bergen, initially proclaimed: “These are probably right-wing terrorists!”
Right wing? As Conservatives, like you, we take offense to that But that is how the Liberal Press has “demonized” us for years. We know you agree with us that this must stop!
Conservatives are NOT terrorists!
Reporter Jake Tapper about the explosives questioned CNN national security analyst Peter Bergen, and he initially said some of the information would become clear when police reveal what kind of explosive was used. He said al-Qaida often uses hydrogen peroxide explosives, while another explosion might signal that a “right-wing extremist” was involved.
When a dozen people were shot and killed, and over two dozen were wounded, at a theater in Aurora, Colorado last year, ABC’s Brian Ross immediately suggested the attacker was from the political right – because there was a “James Holmes” in Colorado’s tea party movement. Both Ross and ABC later apologized for their miss-statement.
We must protest this extremist labeling as WRONG and we deserve an apology.
Fox News reported: “The U.S. Army listed Evangelical Christianity and Catholicism as examples of religious extremism along with al-Qaeda and Hamas during a briefing with an Army Reserve unit based in Pennsylvania…the incident occurred during an Army Reserve Equal Opportunity training brief on extremism.”
Nicholas Kristof of the New York Times quickly blamed the Boston Marathon explosions on the Republican Party because it had held up the appointment of an ATF director. He later deleted the tweet.
The Department of Homeland Defense and many in the military’s top brass are projecting onto Conservatives an insinuation of extremism and mental instability. Quite frankly, there is an all-out attack on conservatives.
An April 7, 2009 DHS document--the first major public document released by the current administration--defined right wing extremism as: "Rightwing extremism in the United States can be broadly divided into those groups, movements, and adherents that are primarily hate-oriented (based on hatred of particular religious, racial or ethnic groups), and those that are mainly antigovernment, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely. It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration." The report spends considerable time discussing how these folks are buying ammo and guns in anticipation of gun controls.
The American Family Association has posted an August 10, 2012 email from Lt Col Jack L Rich, Jr., where the U.S. Army identified those as extremist and hate groups who are anti-gay, the religious right in America, the Family Research Council, the American Family Association, those who are anti-immigrant (quoting the extreme leftist group Southern Poverty Law Center), anti-Islam (naming several Christian and conservative groups), and the patriot movement. It also lumps them in with Neo-Nazis, the KKK, and Black Separatists. It describes the patriot movement as “anti-government militias, ministries and citizens groups”—so says the Southern Poverty Law Center. If this were true, this would make YOU a hate monger and a threat to America.
Many patriotic Americans have finally shouted: “Enough is enough!”
U.S. Representative Doug Lamborn (R-CO) recently sent a letter, co-signed by other Members of Congress, to John M. McHugh, Secretary of the Army, calling on him to rescind, apologize, and investigate the Army Reserve training brief that labeled Conservatives as “extremists.”
Rep. Steve King (R-IA), one of the co-signers of the letter, is prepared to call military officials to Capitol Hill to explain the recent incidents.
Rep. Lamborn’s letter states: “This is astonishing and offensive. We call upon you to rescind this briefing and apologize for its content and set the record straight on the Army’s view on these faith groups by providing a balanced briefing on religious extremism. To say that evangelicals or Catholics are somehow in the same league with al Qaeda or the KKK is outrageous.”

FRC President Tony Perkins said on his “Washington Watch” radio broadcast that the Senate’s bipartisan proposal requiring background checks for Internet gun sales is “very concerning given the fact that the United States military has been increasingly showing hostility toward evangelicals and Catholics as being somehow threats to national security and people that need to be watched.”
Dina Temple-Raston, National Public Radio’s counterterrorism correspondent, before the identities of the Boston bombers were confirmed, said her sources were “leaning” toward believing that it was a homegrown “right-wing” attack, and cited that “April is a big month for anti-government and right-wing individuals.”
Many conservatives are vilified as “terrorists” by the left-wing press!
We need to let Congress know that these organizations must tone down their rhetoric and Congress needs to make sure military officials explain their recent allegations against conservatives.
