“To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them." -George Mason
We need overwhelming support right now in Washington for our Constitution and our Second Amendment.
On the first day of the 113th Congress, TEN NEW GUN BILLS were introduced, eight of them by Democrats seeking to enforce new regulations and restrictions on our right to bear arms.
The eight bills introduced by Democrats that impose restrictions include:
HR 21: require background checks for all gun sales, and require gun owners to report when their guns have been stolen.
HR 65: raise the eligibility age of a person to carry a handgun from 18 to 21.
HR 34 and HR 117: tighten firearm-licensing requirements.
HR 137 and HR138: require people who are prohibited from purchasing a firearm to be cataloged in a national database and would also prevent transfers of high-capacity ammunition magazines.
HR 141: require criminal background checks at all gun shows
HR 142: require face-to-face purchases of ammunition, licensing of dealers, and reporting of bulk ammunition purchases.
Not one of these proposals would have stopped the massacre in Newtown.

The two additional bills came from Rep. Steve Stockman (R-TX) and Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), who put forth HR 35 and HR 133, calling for an end to the “gun-free zone” area around schools. Stockman said, “By disarming qualified citizens and officials in schools we have created a dangerous situation for our children. In the 22 years before enactment of ‘gun free school zones’ there were two mass school shootings…since enactment…there have been 10 mass school shootings. Not only has the bill utterly failed to protect our children it appears to have placed them in danger.”
And we have told you earlier that Senator Dianne Feinstein is ready to introduce a bill to stop the sale, transfer, importation and manufacturing of military-style assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition feeding devices. The first day of Senate proposals is said to be January 22nd.
Obama has announced that gun control is a “priority” in the wake of the Sandy Hook tragedy. He said, “I've been very clear that an assault-rifle ban, banning these high capacity clips, background checks, that there are a set of issues that I have historically supported and will continue to support.”
Obama has wanted to remove our Second Amendment protections for some time now. His administrations—as well as many of his fellow Democrats in Congress—are hostile to our Second Amendment rights. The entire Fast and Furious operation was a ploy to call for more gun control. They have been trying to sneak gun control language into various bills, and the administration is actively working with the United Nations on a Small Arms Treaty, to be finalized in March.
Now, the nightmare in Newtown is just a scapegoat, a convenient excuse to push their agenda. This is a crisis situation for our Second Amendment. We must flood Congress with faxes and demand they protect our Second Amendment rights. Do not let the horror of what occurred in Newtown become President Obama’s impetus for pushing through his ultimate goal of massive gun control and confiscation.
Guns are used 2.5 million times a year to stop or deter crimes. Sammy ‘The Bull’ Gravano, a mafia member whose testimony helped convict John Gotti said, “Gun control? It’s the best thing you can do for crooks and gangsters. I want you to have nothing. I’m a bad guy; I’m always gonna have a gun.”
Are we going to allow our government to eliminate our Second Amendment and give them the power to decide when and where we are due protection?
President Obama said, “There will be resistance.” You bet there will be. Stand up for freedom. Demand that Congress honor the rights we are guaranteed under our Constitution. Your voice is needed, now.
