"Under the advice of my counsel and for all of the above reasons, I declined to answer the questions under the rights and privileges afforded to every citizen under the United States Constitution." Donald J Trump, 45th President of the United States.
Last week, the 45th President of the United States was deposed by NY Attorney General Leticia James and her team in the Southern District of NY, the federal judicial jurisdiction that has vowed to persecute the former president until they find something – anything – that can keep him from running again.
In a two-page statement read prior to questioning, Trumpcriticized James as a "renegade prosecutor" who was pursuing a "vindictive and self-serving fishing expedition."
He’s not wrong.
In 2018, Leticia James campaigned for NY AG on the promise that she would explore every possible legal avenue of persecuting the 45th president. She is poised to make good on that with her current crusade against the Trump Organization.
During the hearing, Trump invoked his Fifth Amendment rights afforded in the Bill of Rights. While the left criticized the former commander in chief, the inalienable right to avoid self-incrimination is an important one:
“No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.”
We all know that “pleading the Fifth” allows the subject to decline to answer questions that may lead to self-incrimination. But this amendment puts additional restrictions on the federal justice system. This is where we get “double jeopardy” and original restrictions on eminent domain.
Our Founding Fathers didn’t just pull these rights out of thin air. They had just liberated a nation and were attempting to forge a model of governance that would prevent the sort of tyranny they’d just defeated. In other words, they sought to right the wrongs they’d just witnessed from government.
In 2022, the Bill of Rights sits on a shelf, and Americans natural rights are violated daily. The gathering places of Americans – from newsrooms to courtrooms to lecture halls to sanctuaries – have been co-opted by an establishment that seeks one goal from those gathering: Compliance.
President Trump’s greatest achievement was reawakening the American Spirit and reminding us of our national birthright: Freedom.
He is still leading the way now, reminding Americans that they can invoke their natural rights at any time against an overreaching government.
Every elected official in the federal government took an oath to protect and defend the US Constitution. That means protecting our rights against the government, not exploring ways to subvert those rights for the government.
DEMAND FOR REMEDY: Immediately condemn the Biden DOJ’s political witch hunts against President Trump and outspoken conservatives, and reaffirm your oath to protect and defend our rights against domestic enemies.
Here is today’s letter to Congress:
TO CLOSE WHO CLAIM TO REPRESENT US IN THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT:
We haven’t yet heard your statement denouncing the Biden regime’s weaponization of the federal government against American citizens. For two weeks we have been asking you to reaffirm your oath to protect our rights.
Your silence is deafening.
You have violated every right enshrined in the Bill of Rights. After swearing an oath to protect and defend those rights, you violated them. In doing so, you violated The People.
The State has been politically persecuting America’s most popular president since he came down the escalator in 2015. Fabricated investigation after fabricated investigation have revealed that the 45th President is cleaner than any politician in the history of our country.
Your media partners criticize President Trump for invoking his Fifth Amendment rights during SDNY’s political witch hunt. Many of you have joined in the criticism.
That doesn’t build our confidence that you’re going to honor your oath.
President Trump is just the most famous in a long line of conservatives that are being persecuted by a political justice system that seeks to punish. This is happening all over the country.
Contrast this to the asymmetrical “justice” afforded to the radical left – the “mostly peaceful” burning of federal buildings and violent perpetrators released without charges or, for those who do get charged, without bail. While January 6 patriots sit in jail for trespassing – if they have been charged at all.
You may want the American People to believe that the Biden DOJ is being reasonable and pursuing justice. That breaking into the President’s safe was reasonable. That telling MAL staff to turn off the cameras and expelling the President’s attorney to the driveway is reasonable. That holding Americans without charging them for months – in violation of the Sixth – is reasonable. That dismissing real crimes by political allies is reasonable.
We don’t think so. It’s obvious that the DOJ under Biden has become The State punisher, escalating daily against the American people. Any member of The State who remains silent on this will be seen as complicit.
DEMAND FOR REMEDY: Immediately condemn the Biden DOJ’s political witch hunts against President Trump and outspoken conservatives, and reaffirm your oath to protect and defend our rights against domestic enemies.
Remember your oath and get on the right side of this – the most dangerous season in American history. If you cannot, then resign in disgrace for the complete and total failure to achieve the objections for which you were hired.
