The crux of the issue lies in the fact that coal, oil, and gas are essential to virtually every aspect of our lives, from agriculture to transportation, and from heating and cooling our homes to providing light.

By curtailing domestic oil and gas production, we are forced to import these resources, often from distant nations like Venezuela, incurring significant fuel costs for transportation.
