The Border Crisis Continues

The southern border of the United States is facing an ongoing crisis. Young people are lured by promises of work in the U.S. through advertisements in Mexico and South America, leading them to take dangerous routes through cartel-infested lands. This has resulted in the trafficking of women and children for labor and the sex trade. Many unaccompanied minors are unaccounted for, and children are often subjected to rape and violence during their journey. The flow of deadly drugs, such as fentanyl, is also a major concern. Known cartel and gang members are committing heinous crimes within the U.S. There is a growing fear of military-aged men from adversarial nations crossing the border, and the number of illegal entries since Joe Biden's election is uncertain but likely higher than reported. The need for securing the border, completing the border wall, upholding immigration laws, and addressing the role of intelligence agencies in destabilizing foreign governments is emphasized to protect U.S. citizens from the consequences of unchecked immigration.
