You CANNOT allow David Chipman to be confirmed to lead the ATF. I don't care what it takes, you MUST block his nomination.

Yes, David Chipman worked at the ATF for 25 years. Unfortunately, his time at the ATF appears to have led him to despise the 2nd Amendment. Since leaving the ATF, Chipman has bounced around from gun control organization to gun control organization, having a hand in every gun control proposal over the past decade.

He has worked for organizations that advocated a ban on handgun ownership. Chipman, himself, has admitted that he wants to ban AR-15s and other legal and constitutionally-protected semi-automatic rifles. He wants to force AR-15 owners to pay $200 each to register their firearms with the Federal government, after which the government could use that registry to roll out confiscations.

Chipman has lied under oath, claiming that suppressors were not designed to protect a shooter's hearing. This is provably false. He has also repeatedly made the claim that 50 caliber rifles should be banned because, and I quote, "at Waco, cult members used two .50 caliber Barretts to shoot down two Texas Air National Guard helicopters."

Let me be clear: that story never happened. Anyone who is willing to invent stories out of whole cloth to justify disarming the American people cannot be trusted to hold any power, let alone be trusted to run the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives...

You need to kill this nomination. No one expected that Joe Biden would nominate a staunch, 2nd Amendment activist to run the ATF. But surely you can understand how dangerous it would be to install a gun control lobbyist to run the part of the DOJ charged with enforcing and interpreting American gun laws...

You swore an oath when you first arrived in Congress. Among other things, you swore to uphold and defend the United States Constitution against all of its enemies, both foreign and domestic. You are sworn to defend the entire Constitution, including the 2nd Amendment, and right now, there is an enemy of the 2nd Amendment before you who has been nominated to run the ATF.

Your oath requires that you do everything in your power to kill this nomination.

If you are unwilling or unable to fulfill that oath... if you are content with a gun control lobbyist gaining the ability to enforce and interpret America's gun laws... then you must be removed from office!
