There are now 7x as many illegal alien children in detention than there were at the height of the border crisis under Trump.

DHS now estimates that more than 1.2 million illegal aliens will be apprehended this year, most being "family units" who believe Biden will just let them stay.

The crisis has gotten so bad that Border Patrol agents are being forced to release illegal aliens without even entering their names into the court backlog. They are just being released.

One of the reasons for this is Joe Biden's haphazard decision to shut down all border wall construction on day one. Without even a single briefing on the matter, Biden ordered all construction to stop.

The result was catastrophic. Illegal aliens and smugglers don't even need to climb over the wall anymore. They can simply walk to the end of the wall and cross through the gap created by Biden's shutdown order.

This week, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas admitted that parts of the border wall will need to be finished. Homeland Security is preparing to resume construction to "fill gaps" and "repair" damaged sections.

They admit that the border wall was keeping Americans safe. They admit that their decision to suspend all construction led to this crisis (otherwise they wouldn't be resuming construction). But now, the very partisans who created this crisis want to be trusted with choosing precisely how many miles are necessary to put an end to it... Of course, the Biden administration only plans to do the bare minimum.

When Congress passed the Secure Fence Act of 2004 - a law, by the way, that Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Joe Biden all voted for - the Executive Branch was given the authority to build barriers at the US-Mexico Border. The law did not, however, dictate how many miles of wall had to be built.

The George W. Bush administration did the bare minimum. Under Obama, the border was "secured" using vehicle barriers that serve as little more than speedbumps for illegal aliens crossing on foot. Only under Donald Trump did actual border barriers start going up.

This should not be a partisan issue. It should also not be left up to partisan administrations to decide how secure the border should be. Without a secure border, we cease to be a country. And considering that Border Patrol recently apprehended two Yemeni suspected terrorists at the border, an unsecure border is an urgent national security vulnerability.

Again, Border Patrol expects to apprehend more than 1.2 million illegal aliens this year, and that does not include the illegal aliens who evade detection or apprehension. This is madness.

You must mandate the administration resume all of the border wall. Every inch that was planned and approved over the past four years must be completed. You must fully fund the project and block the administration from withholding funding to kill the project.

This is not a joke. This is not a game. Biden had his chance to try open borders and it was a complete failure. If you will not step up and secure the border, then you are an enemy to the Republic and must be removed from office!
