Shameful: GOP & Democrat Leaders Coordinated to Impeach Trump

Yesterday was a travesty. Less than a week before President Trump is set to leave office, the House of Representatives voted to impeach the President for "inciting" a riot.

The impeachment was not conducted according to the longstanding rules and procedures. There was no hearing conducted in the Judiciary Committee, for example. Witnesses were not brought forward to testify and there was no cross-examination.

If there had been, you would have likely been told that the men and women responsible for the chaos at the Capitol had been planning it for weeks. How can the President incite a riot when the perpetrators were planning it long before Donald Trump ever took the stage?

Then there is, of course, the basic fact that Donald Trump's speech does not meet the legal or constitutional definitions of restricted speech. The President told the crowd to "peacefully and patriotically" protest at the United States Capitol. Just because you and your colleagues succumbed to your confirmation biases and believe you found subtext where there was none does not make Trump's conduct a "high crime or misdemeanor."

But this has never been about the law or the constitution. Democrat leadership advanced this impeachment article to punish Trump. Ten Republicans signed on to make it easier to purge the President from the party.

While tens of millions of Americans continue to suffer, the economy continues to contract, and children continue to fall behind due to sub-par "e-learning," it is unconscionable that your leaders would force Congress to spend time on impeaching a President who is so close to leaving office that the trial in the Senate would happen AFTER he had already left.

It is shameful that Liz Cheney voted to impeach the President for a non-existent crime. It is shameful that Mitch McConnell circulated an impeachment trial schedule and now admits he does not know how he will vote. It is shameful that Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer would put Americans' pain and suffering on the back burner so they could live out their anti-Trump revenge fantasy...

Yesterday's proceedings proved one thing: the Republican and Democrat leaders who participated in this travesty must be removed from their positions of power!

The American people deserve House and Senate leadership who will prioritize their needs and wants ahead of playing political games. History will remember that while families struggled to put food on the table and businesses teetered on the brink of bankruptcy, instead of working to heal and fix the country, Democrat and Republican leaders chose to unnecessarily and pointlessly punish the President.

You must vote to remove Cheney, McConnell, Pelosi, and Schumer from Congressional leadership. You still have a chance to save yourself. But if you allow these people to retain their power, knowing just how little they care about the people they claim to represent, I will have no choice but to remove YOU from office for supporting them.

Remove them from leadership positions or I will remove you from office!
