Speaking Spanish is a Disability, Getting Shot at Fort Hood Isn't

This is just shameful. While the victims of the Fort Hood terror attack are having their disability claims denied, the Obama administration is extending disability benefits to individuals who only know how to speak Spanish!

The law is supposed to help people who are illiterate, not people who are monolingual and only know how to speak Spanish. But right now, Spanish speakers are receiving their disability pay and Fort Hood victims are not!

It's not hard to see where this is going. If the Obama administration can get away with giving disability benefits to Spanish-speaking Puerto Ricans, then there is nothing stopping them from doing the same for illegal aliens given amnesty!

It is just so backwards! You need to DEMAND that Congress put a stop to this Spanish disability program and make sure that every disabled veteran gets the assistance he or she needs!

Yesterday, news broke that while the victims of the Fort Hood attack would receive Purple Hearts, they would not qualify for disability or combat benefits. This is just the Obama administration's latest attempt to push the false narrative that the Fort Hood attack was nothing but "workplace violence."

Well, today brings more news. No, these heroes are still having their benefits claims rejected. But the Obama administration has extended disability benefits to another group of people: Spanish speakers.

Right now, Puerto Ricans who only speak Spanish are qualifying for disability under Social Security.

If you're monolingual and speak a language other than English, that now qualifies as being disabled. Only Puerto Ricans have been approved for these disability payments so far, but it is easy to see the writing on the wall.

With the Obama administration openly helping illegal aliens cross our southern border, it's only logical that these disability payments will start going to illegal aliens soon. This is especially true since illegal immigrants given amnesty under DACA or DAPA will become eligible to receive Social Security benefits.

While all this is going on, the victims of the Fort Hood TERRORIST attack have gotten nothing. No disability benefits. No combat benefits.

It took an Act of Congress to force the administration to give them Purple Hearts.

That's the only thing that will stop this madness: an Act of Congress. And only you and your colleagues can give us that.

You need to extend full disability and combat benefits to the victims of the Fort Hood attack. You need to literally spell it out in the law because the Obama administration will look for every loophole to get around it.

Then, you need to STOP this ridiculous program of giving away taxpayer money to Spanish speakers because they don't know English!

There is waste like this throughout government and it is unconscionable to deny benefits to disabled soldiers while the Obama administration is redefining speaking Spanish as a disability!
