This week, Senate Republicans blocked a Democratic-led effort to advance an emergency aid package for Ukraine and Israel. On Thursday, GOP Senators doubled down on their strategy of trying to exact border policy changes in exchange for their support for the measure. While Congress is playing cat and mouse, the crisis at the border is worsening! Our border shouldn't be a pawn to send more money overseas; our border and the American people MUST take priority! Congress needs to stop sending money overseas and instead FUND the security of our border!

Why have we gotten to this point? Why is the crisis at the border, which has been open since Biden took office and allowed for millions of illegal immigrants to stream through, often undocumented, only NOW taking priority? Why are our Senators only NOW paying attention to the crisis at the border, when they had nearly three years to fight back? They have put the safety of our nation and, therefore, the safety of the American people on the back burner, all while sending billions of dollars overseas.

As we've reported, on November 3rd, the Biden administration, alongside the Department of Defense (DOD), released a statement asking for additional security assistance to meet Ukraine's critical security and defense needs. This includes the drawdown of security assistance from DOD inventories valued at up to $125 million to meet Ukraine's immediate battlefield needs, as well as $300 million in the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) funds to strengthen Ukraine's air defenses over the long term. Last week, the DOD AGAIN made another immediate release statement for additional security assistance to Ukraine totaling $100 million.

Why are we sending billions of dollars overseas? Why are we funding wars all while we are drowning in debt? Why hasn't our open border been addressed up until now? The American people MUST take priority over ALL. We have called time and time again for the closure of our southern border, and time and time again our calls fall on deaf ears. We DEMAND accountability, we demand responsibility, and most of all, we demand that our southern border is closed, and we STOP sending money overseas.

This should not be a debate. Our border security should not HAVE to be used as a bargaining chip; our border should be the priority of each and every elected official. Congress, CLOSE the border, simple as that; the American people and the crisis of this nation are not bargaining tools; they are URGENT priorities! In addition, we DEMAND that you stop sending billions of dollars overseas! We the PEOPLE, your constituents, are your priority; stand on the right side of history! KNOW YOUR OATH!
